The Art of Interpretation

“Don’t let a reference dictate what your finished painting looks like. Remember your painting is your voice – let it sing out loud and clear.” -Chantel Lynn Barber

There is no need for another artists trying to imitate what the photographs dictate. We are not copy machines, nor are we cameras. We are artists, and as artists our goal is to see and interpret the world around us with our own unique voices.

As such, it is imperative that you hone this voice, as honing it will allow you to speak with it confidently, and that confidence will get you everything you desire. Be that money, fame, or fans. Be inspired while you are making others and that energy will be translated into the painting. An inspired painting will then inspire others to purchase or follow.

In short, just love what you do and let it love you back.
