Pay your Dues (how starting from the bottom has helped me be the artist I am today.)

It might be a no brainer, but paying your dues is important. You can’t just wake up one day and decide that you deserve a million dollars and the world will just give them to you. No that’s just not gonna work, you gotta start at the definition of what your bottom is and go from there.

In my case, I was working 14 hour days just to earn a mere $5 on a finished illustration, and whilst that helped make me the artist I am today, it also gave me the contrast I needed to change my situation. Now a days I can make more than $100 on some designs, and my baseline has gone from $5 up to $60, which is 12x the original amount I used to make.

This helped me afford my own place, work on my car, improve my career and my studies, and even experience some wonderful vacations that I’m sure some of you will need.

So how do you go from paying your dues to a pro? Simple, hard work and dedication. Starting today your goal must change, it can no longer be, “get that money for the next rent check” it has to be to grow and evolve each day.

This will set you a part from thousands of entrepreneurs and business, as your new mindset will be to be better than you were the day before. In a couple of days it might not look like much, but in a week or a month or a year, your daily journey of improvement will have moved so far along that you won’t be able to recognize who you were before. Try it out, I know you can do this! You got it in you!

With love,
